Lent and Confession

With the beginning of Lent (March 13), we will have Confession on Saturdays at 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and following Vespers. Additionally, confessions will be heard following the Presanctified Liturgies and the Salutation services on Friday evenings. Make every effort to come to the SACRAMENT OF CONFESSION. Also, I urge you to attend the Lenten services and the liturgies of the Presanctified Gifts and each time to come prepared to receive Holy Communion at these liturgies.

Attention Parents:

To dispel any confusion or misunderstanding, I am reminding you, once again, that your children must be enrolled in Church School and must attend Church School classes regularly in order to be allowed to take part in the dance groups, athletic program, and any other programs our church offers to our youth.

The spiritual nurturing of children...

St. Paul counsels us to raise our children with a Christ-like education and guidance. In this way our children will begin from an early age to read the Holy Scriptures and to seek the spiritual gifts not only the material. Their participation in the Divine Liturgy and other worship services of the Church will foster and enhance their spiritual growth. We ask for your co-operation and regular participation.

CDs and Tapes by  St. Nicholas' Choir

The St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Choir of San José, under the skilled directorship of Dr. Tikey Zes, is pleased to offer two distinctive collections: · Greek Nostalgia: Traditional folk songs and Kantades invoking memories of our youth. A perfect way to share this heritage with our own children. · Greek Liturgical Music: These beautiful arrangements of Dr. Zes provide an inspiring background for our bible readings. A perfect gift for invalids or others to share in the music of the Holy Liturgy.
