The Annunciation
from the Iconostasion of
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church
San Jose, CA
|
|
"Today marks the
crowning of our salvation and the revelation of the mystery before all
ages. For the Son of God becomes the son of the Virgin, and Gabriel
proclaims the grace. Wherefore, we also cry out with him, 'Hail, O full
of grace, the Lord is with you.'"
Apolytikion of the Annunciation
|
"To you the
champion leader, I your servant offer thanks for victory. O Theotokos,
you who has delivered me from terror. As you have power invincible, free
me from every danger that I may cry unto you: Rejoice, O bride without
bridegroom."
Kontakion

The Annunciation
The Holy Theotokos, though perplexed,
said to the Angel of God: "Let it be" and the future's
unfolding was hidden from her. "Let it be" Mary said, and her
future was embraced as God's. "Let it be" the Holy Mother
said, and she sang the first phrase of the Pascha - Easter song of
praise: the Megalinario, the Magnificat. To those celebrating
today: the Evangelous and Evangelies, Happy Nameday and Hronia
Polla!
